  Hyderabad: The Alwal police have registered a case against eight persons following a complaint alleging sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl According to police, the girl, an Intermediate student, became acquainted with one Jerry Varun while studying in Class X. She alleged that he intoxicated her and sexually assaulted her. Another person allegedly introduced through him also got her habituated to alcohol, cigarettes and narcotics before sexually assaulting her The girl was also allegedly harassed by another person who became acquainted with her through Instagram.   Hyderabad: Overhead electrical equipment (OHE) failure was reported between Secunderabad and Lalaguda stations on Sunday night, after power lines reportedly snapped over a moving Intercity Express near Moulali. The incident occurred around 10 pm, caused a loud noise, following which the train was stopped near Moulali as a precaution. Some passengers reportedly stepped out of the train amid confusion. The South Central Railway officials immediately launched restoration measures. According to the railway authorities, there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. A few trains were detained or regulated for less than 10 minutes and were subsequently allowed to resume normal operations. Train No. 12795 Vijayawada–Lingampalli Express, which was detained in the section, was being moved towards Secunderabad. Railway authorities clarified that both up and down train services are now operating normally.

Hyderabad:  Telangana Police on Saturday arrested atheist Bairi Naresh for alleged derogatory remarks against lord Ayyappa and other Hindu deities.   After a gap of four days, the Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra resumed from Makthal in Narayanpet district of Telangana on Thursday. The yatra kicked off at 6.30 am from Makthal with State Congress president A Revanth Reddy, MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and a number of party leaders joining Gandhi. As per a press release by the Yadagirigutta Temple Development Authority (YTDA) VC and CEO G Kishan Rao on Thursday, the VC said that the 3 years degree course in Traditional, Sculpture, and Architecture ( Temple Architecture) would commence on November 21 this year. The programme is being conducted in affiliation with the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad. JNAFAU  had given permission for affiliation to start a three years degree course in Traditional, Sculpture, and Architecture, in a college to be established in Yadagirigutta temple premises in August this year. This would be on par with institutions offering Temple Architecture as a course like the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams and Mahabalipuram.

Hyderabad : Telangana on Tuesday recorded 74 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the overall caseload to 8,38,182. Hyderabad district reported the highest number of cases at 46. According to a COVID-19 bulletin, 98 people recuperated from the infection, raising the cumulative number of recoveries till date to 8,33,486 The recovery rate stood at 99.44 percent. No fresh fatality was reported due to the infectious disease and the toll continued to be 4,111. The bulletin said 7,796 samples were tested today. The number of active cases was 585, it said.

Hyderabad: Continuing the good run at getting big ticket investments, Telangana succeeded in getting Ashirvad Pipes of Aliaxis Group agree to set up a greenfield facility with an investment of Rs 500 crore in Telangana. The firm will manufacture storage and distribution plastic piles, fittings and accessories.
